The PRYDE Program is
designed to instill in
children a positive
sense of self-esteem in
order to assist them in
making good life
decisions and in
resisting drugs, alcohol
and gang involvement.
The PRYDE
curriculum focuses
primarily on
developing positive
self-esteem,
character
development,
cultural awareness
and team sportsmanship.
The Mission Valley YMCA
provides a Pryde after-school
program for students in 3rd
through 5th grade at three
elementary schools:
- Chesterton Elementary
(Grades 3 - 5)
- Kit Carson Elementary
Grades 3 - 5)
- Linda Vista Elementary
(Grades 3 - 5)
- Montgomery Middle School
(Grades 6 - 8)

The PRYDE Program goal is to assist children in developing pride in self, family, community and the future. The PRYDE Program is free to the participants and is held Monday through Friday directly after school dismissal until 6:00 p.m. It includes homework assistance and academic enrichment, sports, games, arts and crafts, field trips and special events.
